Heavy Duty Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic with the ability to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on drill rigs and related equipment. This dual-role position is critical to ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet and drilling operations. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working in both shop and field environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Heavy Duty Truck Maintenance:

Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on diesel trucks and trailers.
Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance as scheduled.
Ensure all work meets Ministry and company safety standards.

Drill Rig Maintenance:

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems on drilling rigs.
Work with drill rig components including rotary heads, winches, pumps, and compressors.
Assist drill crews with equipment setups and field repairs as needed.
Identify and address issues before they result in downtime or safety hazards.

Qualifications:

Red Sea certification or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience working with diesel trucks; experience with drill rigs or industrial equipment is strongly preferred.
Solid knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical diagnostics.
Ability to read schematics, service manuals, and technical documents.
Welding and fabrication experience considered an asset.
Valid driver's license (DZ or AZ preferred?).
Ability to work independently and in challenging environments (e.g., field sites, remote locations).

Work Environment:

Shop-based with frequent travel to field locations and drill sites.
May require overtime, weekend work, or on-call availability.
Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
